Honoring the courage, sacrifice, and unity of the martyrs, Kargil Vijay Diwas, a symbol of national pride and military strength, stands as a testament to the courage, sacrifice, and unity of those who laid down their lives for the victory of the Indian Army in the Kargil War. In memory of the Kargil martyrs, ISKCON Dwarka on Saturday organized a Peace Yagna at the Sri Sri Rukmini Dwarkadhish Temple. Dedicated to Lord Narasimha, the Yagna witnessed the participation of numerous devotees and family members of the martyrs.

Following the Peace Yagna, a Maha Aarti was conducted at 12:30 PM. At 1 PM, a tribute was paid to the relentless efforts of the Kargil martyrs, remembering their sacrifices. Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on July 26, offering an opportunity to honor the martyrs of the nation. Every citizen should wholeheartedly pay tribute to these heroes on this day.

Among the young officers who demonstrated extraordinary bravery in the Kargil War was Captain Vikram Batra (September 9, 1974 – July 7, 1999), who was posthumously awarded India’s highest military honor, the Param Vir Chakra. Members of Captain Vikram Batra’s family attended the Peace Yagna.

Other recipients of the Param Vir Chakra from the Kargil War, including Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav, Lieutenant Manoj Kumar Pandey, Rifleman Sanjay Kumar, Captain Anuj Nayyar, and Major R.S. Adhikari, were also honored during the ceremony.

Several military personnel, including retired Captain Akhilesh Saxena, Captain Nishant Sharma, retired Colonel Baidyanath Shukla, and Colonel Sameer Kalra, were present at the memorial event.

Citizens are encouraged to remember the sacrifices of these brave soldiers, spread the message of unity and courage, and pay homage to the nation’s military strength. Children should be told the heroic stories of the sacrifices made during the Kargil War. Let us all take a moment from our busy lives to reflect on the Peace Yagna dedicated to Lord Narasimha and pay our heartfelt tributes to the Kargil martyrs.
