Uttarakhand, [India], September 12, 2024: BS Bhandari, a resident of Khatima Tehsil in Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar district, has carved out a remarkable career trajectory that spans military service and entrepreneurship. Bhandari was raised in a farming family and experienced financial difficulties early in life, which influenced his goals for the future.

Bhandari started his career with 18 years of service in the Indian Army, where he served his country and honed his skills and entrepreneurial spirit. During his tenure, he took advantage of every chance to supplement his income, from renting out electronic items to fellow soldiers to fulfilling their requests for goods from Nepal, China, Japan, and Korea.

“I never missed any opportunity to earn money,” Bhandari recalls. “Whether it was carrying sports shoes or emergency lights for my comrades, I always ensured some monetary benefit, even if it was just covering the journey’s fare.”

A turning point in Bhandari’s career came during his UN mission to Sudan in 2008, where he earned a substantial amount of dollars. After returning to India in late 2009, he investigated the direct selling sector due to this experience, which further drove his ambition for financial growth.

At first, Bhandari’s venture into direct selling was marked by initial challenges. He previously worked in two companies. He discovered that while bulk selling can be helpful for a short period of time, it is not sustainable. This realisation prompted him to leave his first direct-selling organisation after his senior forced him to make bulk purchases. Although he initially agreed, the bulk purchases left him with a debt of 5 lakh rupees. Despite investing 2-2.5 years in his initial firm, he had setbacks owing to insufficient guidance and an unfit platform. However, this experience proved invaluable, teaching him crucial lessons about the industry.

“The biggest thing I learned was that through network marketing, because of the power of networking, more money can be earned in less time if the company is right, the product is right, the payout is right, the mentor is right, and the education is right,” Bhandari explains.

Despite early losses, Bhandari continued exploring opportunities across sectors, including insurance sales. He started working part-time at Asclepius Wellness Private Limited, a direct-selling company that showed promise, from August 2015 to April 2017. His hard work paid off in May 2017 when he joined AWPL full-time. His career in the industry gained momentum rapidly, as he generated an impressive income of 42 lakh rupees in just 14 months, between 1st May 2017 to 30th June 2018.

Today, Bhandari holds an ambassador rank in his company and leads a team of over 50 successful leaders and make a team of more than 8 lakh+  team members. His achievements include owning two luxury cars, purchasing a luxury house in Jaipur, and providing quality education for his children. More importantly, he has been able to improve his family’s quality of life significantly.

Bhandari takes more than just a business-oriented approach to direct selling. He devotes his time to educating and guiding others, highlighting the value of education in the field. “I want to educate people about direct selling. I never encourage people to earn money; I always educate my team members on ways to earn,” he states.

Bhandari envisions direct selling as a solution to unemployment and a catalyst for a healthier, wealthier India. His goal is to contribute significantly to the industry’s growth and be remembered as a key player in its development.

“I want that through Direct Selling, I can contribute to my society, my country, and my people,” BS Bhandari asserts. “This business is such a big platform that it can address the unemployment issues of our country.” His journey serves as an inspiration to many aspiring entrepreneurs in India’s growing direct-selling industry.
