Jaipur (Rajasthan), March 12, 2025: Continental Petroleums Ltd., today announced that it’s Chairman & Managing Director, Mr. Madan Lal Khandelwal has been appointed as one of the member of the Task Force set up set up by the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB) to propose steps to ensure Circular Economy in the State of Rajasthan.

 Mr Madan Lal Khandelwal is also currently the President of the Petroleum Refiners’ Association of India (PRAI).  Continental Petroleums Ltd is one of the leading manufacturers of industrial Lubricants & Greases in the country.

The task force has been set up by the RSPCB with an aim to ensure effective implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility based market mechanism as mandated by respective waste management rules in the country.

The task force will be required to deliberate and submit roadmap along with timelines for circular economy for the State to the Chairperson of Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board, latest by May 15, 2025. The Task Force will be required to take necessary steps to facilitate circular economy regime in the State.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has laid down the Circular Economy Regime for various special category waste such as Li-ion batteries, e-waste, toxic and hazardous industrial waste, scrap metal (ferrous and non-ferrous), tyre and rubber, end of life vehicles, gypsum, used oil, solar panels and municipal solid wastes for regulating market based Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in these streams. 

Commenting on the development, Mr. Madan Lal Khandelwal’  said, “As a member of the Task Force we to propose steps to implement Circular Economy in the state of Rajasthan and undertake path-breaking initiatives to ensure circular economy under the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework.”
